Mike Rodgers
Managing Director
Mike co-founded Focusmed24 in 2008 after becoming increasingly frustrated with agencies who were run by business people with little understanding of the intricacies and challenges of a high pressured clinical environment.
Having qualified as an Operating Department Assistant at Leighton Hospital, Crewe in 1987 and following a brief full-time post in the NHS, he soon decided to sign up for one of the very few locum agencies around at that time.
He remained working as a locum ODP for almost thirty years, covering a variety of scrub, anaesthetic and recovery placements at numerous hospitals around the UK and abroad, as well as a full-time post as Theatre Manager at a busy Manchester private hospital.
With an unrivalled knowledge of the operating theatre environment, Mike therefore understands exactly which staff are required when requested for a one-off shift or long term booking alike.
Mike keeps his Professional Registration up to date and can often be found filling a last-minute shift for one of our clients and even spent time on busy NHS wards and vaccinating during the Coronavirus crisis.
When he isn’t answering the phone and texting shifts out, Mike enjoys running (when his knee allows it), pub quizzes and lots of holidays.
Katie Jones
Office Manager
Katie has been with Focusmed24 since 2009 and has always been actively involved in the development and success of the business to where it is today.
Her career began after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Business Administration and time spent working in industrial and commercial recruitment.
Katie’s role within the business has grown over the years and she now manages all the administration, HR and finance functions of the business. She likes getting involved and sorting things out.
Katie balances her work with running, cycling and travelling.
She is a Beaver Leader with the local Scout group and volunteers and fundraises for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Vanessa Barber
Registrations and Compliance Officer
Vanessa joined Focusmed24 in November 2021.
